6th Annual West Palm Beach Yoga Day

I left West Palm Beach Yoga Day feeling excited, inspired and tired. I was excited because this event was a formal introduction to some of “my people”. It was also my first speaking and teaching event since relocating to South Florida less than a month ago.

I’ll give a quick re-cap. Just in case you weren’t there. I was blessed to be invited to share my “Take Living Personally: Developing Your Authentic Lifestyle Equation” workshop at the smartwater Education Tent and teach a yoga class at the east stage.

For my workshop, a small group of women gathered to focus on one area of their lives and put ACTION steps into place. Loved it! Apparently, they did too. Here are some comments from the attendees:

…energetic, clear, articulate…handouts were valuable…like your openness and honesty…made me pinpoint and be specific about my task…

I was inspired by the dedication that Therese and Jerry, of Living Fit Today & WPB Yoga Day organizers, have to this event. Folks down here were really friendly and interested in having real conversation. I was able to connect with other teachers, get recommendations of studios to check out, and made some potential new friends. I’ve gone to a lot of outdoor festivals and yoga event. I have a good time at most, but sometimes logistics can be a bit “off”. As a presenter and a participant, I liked the flow of this event. There was enough space and I didn’t feel cramped by the 2000 yogis that were there. Yes, I just said 2000. People got there mats and came out to support and participate in an event focused on connection, devotion, the breath and unity. Love IT!

The quality of the instruction was on point. I observed a few classes and participated in one or two. I also taught “Embracing Your Yoga”, a yoga class that let’s people show up on the mat as they are. I tend to teach a lot of mixed level classes, so this class was perfect for this group, as it’s an invitation to yogis, gurus and newbies to come together for a fun soulful practice. Unfortunately, I don’t have any photos of me teaching. I am sure someone does.

Between speaking, teaching and practicing, I left the event feeling inspired and knowing that I would rest well that evening. Jessica OM (Stiehm) and Aaron “Ananda Das” of Jai Healing Arts had a Thai Yoga Massage demo. Too bad they weren’t offering any to the public. It was a long day for me and I sure could have used one :)

So, there you have it. A great event. A great experience. A great introduction to the yoga community of South Florida. Namaste.

Thank you, Jerry. It was such a pleasure to be a part of the event. It is a gift to SF to have the opportunity to share in the experience!
