Making Art Every Day + Telling the Truth with Elena Brower

Takeyah meditating in National ArboretumA little bit over a year ago, I took Elena Brower’s Art of  Attention workshop in Washington, DC. Aside from hearing about her heart-centered work, I did a tiny, tiny, mini, mini practice with her when 10,000 yogis gathered for Yoga At the Great Lawn (Y@GL) in Central Park, NYC (which got rain out  #sniffle).

When Faith Hunter (my teacher) announced that she was hosting a workshop with Elena, I was on it. I’ll just say that the practice with Elena was powerful. It provided tools and tidbits for showing up on the mat and in life.

You’ll see from the video, that this interview will also touch on the art of paying attention, too! Turn up the volume on your computer.

Key gems from the practice + our chat:

  • Make art of your every day experiences.
  • Tell the truth.
  • Go home and be amazing with your family.
  • Put two boys in your inspiration toolbox.
