Sometimes Standing on One Leg is Not Yoga…It’s Fear
Here you are, walking along the path that you know belongs to you. Things are going well. You’re eating well and have great habits. You’re in a loving, honest and communicative relationship. You are really enjoying your work and colleagues. You and your friends have an amazingly supportive connection. You are on fire.
Then something happens. You get sick. You have an argument. You realize that eh…this job is not working for me so much anymore. Something just happens that shifts things a bit. The vision that you had is no longer as clear as it once had been.
And you are left standing on one leg. Not because time froze. Not because you decided to take the time to master your dancer pose. It’s because you’re afraid.
So, it might appear easier to just stand on one foot. You won’t feel like you failed. Maybe no one will notice. I mean, at least you aren’t making the “wrong” step, right ?!? But after a while, you’ve engaged your core as much as you can. Your trembling thighs and wobbling hips don’t really seem all that fun. What do you do?
- Take a deep breath.
- Acknowledge the fear.
- Say hello. Kiss her in the mouth. Get real intimate with her.
- What would you be doing if you didn’t have this fear?
- What would happen if you allowed the fear to stay?
- Connect to the vision that you have/had.
- Is the vision the same? Shift how you want to manifest it.
- Do you want to shift the vision to look like something different? Describe what it looks like.
- Give yourself permission to take a different step. You can write your own permission slip.
- Take the next step….even if it looks different from what you envisioned…even if it’s a baby step.
I am firm believer that everything is in divine order. So, where ever your foot lands is where it should be. A conscious step is not a mis-step. Sometimes your feet might be guiding the path as opposed to the path guiding your feet.
